Starboard Media Foundation has agreed to purchase WNSW-AM 1430 kHz New York, for $10.1M from Multicultural Broadcasting. Michael J. Bergner of Bergner & Co. was the exclusive broker in this transaction. Starboard operates as Relevant Radio and they already own 13 stations with dozens of affiliates. They offer Catholic programming and also recently purchased the Disney AM’s in KC and Milwaukee. Bergner tells RBR-TVBR: "The main buyers of AM stations today are certainly the specialty niche broadcasters, none of the major groups are in the hunt for more AM’s. I also see a religious broadcasters just purchased 1460kHz in Los Angeles last week." | |
