 Lotus Communications Buys it's Fourt and Fifth AM in Las Vegas, as the LA based company founded by Howard Kalmenson 50 years ago quietly looks for growth opportunities. It likes Vegas, where it owns three FMs (including classic rock KXPT/97.1) and three AMs. Those AMs (KBAD/920, KENO/1460, KVWN/1100) all do some kind of sports. The new AM-band additions don't. The are brokered-talk KLAV running 1,000 watts around the clock, but has a construction permit for a new daytime 1-kw facility and 900 watts at night. Price for the pair - $800,000. Seller is Hemisphere Media LLC, which acquired KLAV/KRLV two years ago in a deal where it assumed the obligations to Draycott Capital.
